Ride the Bass of PEEKABOO and G-Rex’s ‘Babatunde’ [thatDROP]

PEEKABOO joins forces with experimental bass artist G-Rex to create a sheer eargasm with their latest track, “Babatunde”. The record is out now via Wakaan records as a free download.

The track opens with eerie screeches and slowed down vocals that quickly build into disoriented mayhem. From animal samples to atmospheric wubs, you won’t be too sure if this track is taking you through a jungle or gliding you through a black hole.  Together, PEEKABOO and G-Rex  lace the song with industrial glitches which pays homage to their city of origin, Detroit.

Each Producer is Crafting their Own Signature Bass Style.

With his distorted basslines and otherworldly vibrations, PEEKABOO is bound to blast you to another dimension. Liquid Stanger’s Wakaan label welcomed the free-formed bass artist last year for PEEKABOO’s debut EP, Imposters. Shortly after, he followed up with a second EP entitled Maniac, later in 2018. His tracks disbursed through the festival circuit and caught attention from REZZ, RL Grime, Bassnectar, and Dubloadz.  PEEKABOO even dropped a collab with Bassnectar, and toured nationwide. He has shared stages with: Liquid Stranger, Dirt Monkey, Caspa and many more. The Detroit native currently resides in Los Angeles, and is bringing the wonkiest wubs to the West Coast bass scene.

G-Rex is merging high energy trap with dark drippy dub to create his unique style of cold blooded bass.

He has garnered support from Skrillex, Excision, and Zeds Dead. WAKAAN also picked up G-Rex for his Rift EP. Additionally, his latest release “Heretic” is a collab with one of OWSLA’s filthiest beat-makers: Ghastly. G-Rex is on the move and his next stop is Liquid Stranger’s 37 date Infinity Tour. Check to see if this breakout artist is dropping by your city to unleash some experimental dubstep.
