Cheney Rey aka CRAY releases an official remix to “Lost” by Jai Wolf (Ft. Chelsea Jade). CRAY’s track accompanies Midnight Kids, MYRNE and others on the “Lost” Remix EP, via MOM+POP records.
CRAY produces her own spin to Jai Wolf’s original.
The rising female producer recreates the original “Lost” into a bubbly dance track. The instrumental drops during the first verse leaving an airy and drifting aura to open the song. Once the pre-chorus hits, the drum-kick jumps in to give a new groove to the sequence. The music blossoms with imagination as the lyrics focus on feeling lost and being absent. Surrounded in a fast-moving world with constant agendas, people’s thoughts can easily shift to feeling confused; longing for an escape.
“When Jai Wolf asked me to remix ‘Lost’ I was so stoked,” says CRAY. “Not only do I look up to him as an artist, I loved the energy of this record. I’ve always loved vocal chops from the beginning of my career so I wanted to bring that element back into this remix.”
CRAY’s popular remixes such as Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” and Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” (ft. Cardi B) have garnered her a considerable buzz. She has even released exclusive mixes for Diplo & Friends and Earmilk. CRAY made a recent appearance at Voodoo Music + Art Experience and will be hitting the stage at Vancouver’s Contact Winter Music Festival. Looking forward to seeing what else is up CRAY’s sleeve for 2019.
